Neil McGreggor

Biography

Neil’s career has spanned major Hollywood productions, government, and commercial advertising. Neil lived in Vancouver, Canada working on films including Deadpool, Robocop, and Godzilla. He was headhunted by the Queensland Government (Department of the Premier and Cabinet under Screen Queensland) to attract Hollywood films to Queensland and was instrumental in strengthening Queensland’s screen industry, attracting production investment of more than $330 million in film and television production, including Thor: Ragnarok and Aquaman, to film in Australia.

In 2018, he identified an industry gap, conceptualised, and led a key infrastructure project for a $16 million studio facility in Brisbane which he oversaw construction. This helped address the identified pipeline which contributed to a surge in screen production expenditure in Queensland that exceeded $1 billion in economic activity in 2025.

He founded an award winning creative company Glass Engine, delivering advertising campaigns and entertainment content for global brands including Shell Energy, Tesla and Uber Eats. His documentary work includes Growing Happiness (Amazon Prime) and I Shot the President (Apple TV), with his directing work receiving recognition from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.

In late 2025, Neil founded You Mimic AI, a Tasmanian technology company building consent-based digital avatar systems for enterprise and government clients to scale communications. Currently scaling and servicing local and international clients in private and government sector across a wide range of industries. It has been highly sort after and featured in Auspreneur, The Australian Business Journal and at SXSW Sydney.‍
